Earlier this month the UK IMS Content Packaging and Management project at the University of Edinburgh released an editor for working with IMS Content Packages.

The editor is written in Java, with a distribution package suitable for Windows and UNIX (including Mac OS X and Linux). The project is open-source, and source code is also available for download from the project website.

According to Boon Kee Low of the Edinburgh project team, a new version of the editor is planned for release in November featuring Metadata features and other enhancements.
