ePrints release update of free self-archiving software
ePrints, the self-archiving software that uses the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) metadata-harvesting standards, has a new version released this month.
ePrints is a content repository application that allows OAI "service providers" to index and search the material you store. This allows you to self-publish academic papers and other materials, with the added benefit that your materials will appear in searches made using OAI gateways and search portals.
Version 2.0 of ePrints provides localisation enhancements, with metadata storage in Unicode and user interface text stored in "Phrase files" to allow for easier translation.
EPrints is available free of charge for Linux and Unix, and requires that you have Perl and MySQL installed.
