The IMS Global Learning Consortium have released version 1.1 of the Enterprise specification, designed to allow systems to exchange information about learners, courses, and groups.

The new specification makes a number of changes to the existing Enterprise 1.0.1 specification, including multiple user Ids, and improved name handling for people. The documents accompanying the specification have also been improved. For a detailed look at what the differences in the new specification, take a look at the article "Consolidation before the leap; IMS Enterprise 1.1" by Wilbert Kraan here on the CETIS website.

The specification itself can be downloaded from the IMS website.
