WebCT support for OKI

Posted on July 29 2003 by Kimberly Voltero in reponse to IMS and OKI, the wire and the socket

WebCT participated in the Alt-i Lab meetings and was able to demonstrate how the SIDs could be used to extend the functionality of WebCT Vista (an Academic Enterprise System), by updating the the Microsoft Outlook personal calendar using the authentication SID and Calendar SID with events that were posted in WebCT Vista.

This demonstrated that a commercial system - WebCT Vista that supports agreed upon open standards can work interoperate with open source projects and initiatives, with the benefit of expanding the features and functionality of an elearning application while leveraging the reliability, service, support and collaboration that an established community provides.
