Wasted Resources

Posted on April 10 2005 by Chris Garbett in reponse to Flagship UKeU e-learning project faces major restructuring

I have been succesfully running a web-based distance learning MSc in Facilities Management for several years. I currently have about 40 students in 6 different countries. If one avoids costly and unnecesary "bells and whistles" the development costs are quite reasonable and comparable to a traditional face to face course. The total delivery costs are much lower than face to face courses.
I contacted the E-University to see if there was any scope for collaboration and was dismissed in rather a cavalier fashion. I was given the impression that they knew better than I, or felt that they did.
