Open Source Deployment and Development
Wilbert Kraan
December 11, 2003

This is the inaugural conference of the new OSS Watch, JISC's open source software advisory service for UK HE and FE. The conference is intended for the service's three main audiences: developers, managers and users.

Questions that will be addressed during the conference include:
# Does free and open source software matter to me?
# How can I build open standards and/or free and open source into our IT strategy?
# How can I get support for free and open source software?
# Will the OSS development methodology work for us?
# Which licence should we choose?

The conference is free (naturally), but requires registration.

Given the potential of free and open source software in general, and education in particular, this is conference is really a must for anyone with a stake in educational information technology.
