Scott Wilson (CETIS): New IMS Enterprise Services Specifcation
Scott will be presenting the new IMS Enterprise Services Specification (due out in January); and hopefully, Nick Sharples will be presenting an Enterprise Services Demonstration Kit (depending on whether the project is sufficiently completed by January).
Paul Walk (London Met University): MISLine: Exposing Student Records
Paul will be discussing a development he has been working on to put a read-only web interface onto parts of the university student record system, and expose student records as XML/HTML. He intends to convert the application to use the IMS Enterpriseschema where possible, and also to slot the application into a Service Oriented Framework.
Tish Roberts (JISC): E-Learning Frameworks (new JISC Development Programme)
Tish will be discussing the new JISC development programme on E-learning Frameworks, and we will be collecting expressions of interest from people who would like to be involved with the programme. We will also discuss problems with e-learning frameworks and joining-up systems in your institutions; and draw up a list of problem areas you think the development programme could investigate and address.
Vashti Zarach (CETIS): The World of Enterprise
Vashti will be giving the usual summary of recent and forthcoming news and events. She will also be distributing an Enterprise Implementation Form which has been drawn up to gather information from the SIG about their experiences of implementing the specification. The information gathered will be made available on the SIG website.
We will also have group discussions on the current topical issues of course identifiers and defining groups.
