Web Accessibility - The US Experience
Dan Comden, an expert in computer consultancy from the University of Washington, will be holding this workshop for TechDis. This workshop will look into the unique US experience of web accessibility. Topics will include a comparison of the US experience of Higher Education support, compared to that seen in the UK, and important findings on web accessibility within the United States.
Delegates will have a chance to get hands-on experience of a range of assistive technologies, from both the UK and US, encompassing a variety of budget ranges. A practical session will also be held on web site accessibility and should enable non web developers to evaluate their own web pages.
Cost: Free to all staff involved in further and higher education. In the event of a delegate failing to attend without prior notice, a £50 administration charge will be incurred.
