Web Accessibility Issues: Developing Policy
This course will answer the questions: What is accessible web design? and Why is it important for my organisation?
It will provide a jargon free introduction to the issue of web accessibility for non-technical staff with managerial and policy development responsibilities. It will provide a sound basis of knowledge for those responsible for developing and implementing web accessibility policy.
The course will provide participants the essential information they need to analyse and develop organisational requirements in relation to web accessibility. It will enable managers to grasp the issues involved when developing policy and provide them with useful guidelines and resources to assist in the implementation of web accessibility policy and the management of accessible websites.
The course will be useful to Managers with responsibility for policy development and/or managment of Information Resources within the public, private and voluntary sector. It will be of particular interest to Ethical Companies, Local Authorities and Educational Establishments seeking to comply with the DDA and (Special Educational Needs and Disability Act, 2001).
