The conference centre can accommodate delegates at the Days Hotel.

Workshop Content

  • Introduction to: conceptual modelling and visual modelling
  • Finding a sufficient and intuitive modelling vocabulary (a subset of UML);
  • Modelling in the e-Framework environment
  • Domain and concept modelling for reference models that will serve all relevant communities of practice/

Learning Outcomes

Attain a basic understanding of:

  • The concepts: System, Systems Analysis and Modelling
  • Identification of UseCases and Actors
  • Identification of candidate Classes and how to assign attributes
  • Generalisation and specialisation in classification of things in a domain
  • How to draw a workflow as an Activity Diagram
  • Allocation of system responsibilities to components
  • Assembly of components into services
  • Service framework architecture
  • Reference models as a means to (a) join things up (b) plan and specify software development.

The workshop participants will apply 5 key questions to a scenario and will create 4 UML Diagrams: UseCase, Class, Activity and Component.
