Third Meeting - DfES e-learning strategy
The third meeting of the CETIS Pedagogy Forum was held on Monday 20th October 2003 at
Birkbeck College, University of London.

The day focussed on the consultation of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
'Towards a Unified e-learning strategy'. We were keen to receive input and capture people's views about
the strategy via discussions and feedback throughout the day.

'Towards a policy on interoperability and pedagogical standards for e-learning'
Prof Diana Laurillard Head, e-Learning Strategy Unit, DfES) Opened the meeting with an overview of the strategy and raise the main issues involved in the consultation.

'Issues from various perspectives'
Dr Allison Littlejohn University of Strathclyde), presented her reaction to the strategy and reported back on findings from a national LTSN Forum ‘Supporting Sustainable e-Learning’.
Lisa Corley (CETIS) reported on issues raised from the ALT- SURF study trip to the Netherlands and how perspectives to e-learning differ from those in the UK. - Discussions
Throughout the day, there was time for discussions plus a closing panel session.

The strategy consultation ran until the end of January 2004. The DfES also held a number of Consultation
