3rd CETIS Pedagogy Forum Meeting – Response to DfES e-learning Strategy
Birkbeck College, London. Monday 20 October 2003 10.30am to 4.00pm

10.30 – 11.00 Registration and Refreshments

11.00 - 11.40 'Towards a policy on interoperability and pedagogical standards for e-learning'
Prof Diana Laurillard (Head, e-Learning Strategy Unit, Department for Education and Skills) will introduce the issues surrounding learning technologies and the impact that standards have.

11.40 – 12.10 Discussion Session 1
Discussion of the issues raised in the presentation and the impact on teaching and learning practice these may have. Each group should nominate a note taker and a presenter.

12.10 – 12.30 Results of Discussion 1 - feed back

12.30 – 13.30 Lunch

13.30 – 13.50 Issues from various perspectives
Dr Allison Littlejohn (University of Strathclyde) will present her reaction to the strategy and report back on findings from a national LTSN Forum ‘Supporting Sustainable e-Learning’.
Lisa Corley (CETIS) will report on issues raised from the ALT- SURF study trip to the Netherlands and how perspectives to e-learning differ from those in the UK.

13.50 – 14.30 Discussion Session 2
Discussion of Issues raised in presentation and reaction to the strategy consultation document. Each group should nominate a note taker and a presenter.

14.30 – 14.50 Results of Discussion 2 - feed back

14.50 – 15.10 Tea / Coffee

15.10 – 16.00 Panel Session Panel of Presenters & CETIS

16.00 Close
