10:30-10:45 Welcome, introductions, house-keeping. Show new CETIS Briefing on IMS Learning Design
10:45-12:00 Session 1: Introduction to IMS Learning Design specification
Oleg Liber, Director of CETIS. Background to development of IMS Learning Design; What problems did it set out to solve?; Description of multiple pedagogies in a single high-level language.
Bill Olivier, Director of CETIS, co-author of IMS Learning Design specification. How the problems were tackled; How OUNL developed the Educational Modelling Language and how this was taken up by IMS to create IMS Learning Design; How IMS Learning Design works

13:30-15:30 Session 2: Hands-on sessions (choose one; you can do the other one tomorrow!)
James Dalziel, Maquarie University / WebMCQ Hands-on LAMS (Learning Activity Management System) demo. LAMS is a tool inspired by the IMS Learning Design specification (although it is not a reference implementation of the spec). It was demod at a number of recent CETIS meetings. LAMS enables learning activity creators to compose their online lessons for group-based or collaborative learning scenarios.
Jocelyn Manderveld, Open University of the Netherlands Hands-on walk-through on creating a learning activity using IMS Learning Design. Jocelyn will show you how to implement a learning design scenario using IMS Learning Design and will demonstrate EduBox, the original EML Player.

14:00-15:45 Session 4: Discussion and feedback Oleg Liber and Bill Olivier will talk about future developments such as RELOAD, and will ask for detailed feedback from the workshop about the IMS Learning Design specification, and tools and players for using it. There will be breakout groups to discuss these questions, and to raise any other issues from the group, finishing with a final discussion and gathering of feedback.
