Personal Learning Environments

What is a PLE? The future or just another buzz word?

This event introduced participants to Personal Learning Environments (PLEs), a recently developed concept.
Attendees were shown the work in progress of a JISC funded project (undertaken by CETIS) investigating PLEs and other work in the PLE area; there were lots of opportunities for discussion to provide feedback on these and ideas for future development.

CETIS PLE project: http://www.cetis.ac.uk/members/ple/resources/ple_summary The project team have been working on developing the definition, scope and a reference model for PLEs and have also developed desktop and portal based prototypes. At this event the team shared with participants the progress so far, current status, and plans for future work, to gather views on our progress so far.

The event was held on Wednesday 7th June 2006 at the Chancellors Conference Centre, Manchester: 10am - 4pm. Download an Agenda (word document)
