Feeds everywhere and for everything...
Josie points to this interesting diagram showing the explosion of uses for RSS/Atom feeds. I think this is the tip of the iceberg.
Its been pointed out a couple of times now on the Atom lists that the specification effectively forms a generic envelope model for REST transactions, encapsulating any kind of structured or unstructured data.
An interesting spin-off from this is datablogging - adding structured data to blog items.
So expect all kinds of feeds in the future.
Of course, pulling all this stuff together and extracting meaning then becomes more challenging. Look out for the Return Of RDF and OWL!
