AOL goes for OpenID

Johannes Ernst blogs about AOL adopting OpenID. AOL and AIM users now have the option of using their OpenID provided by the service.

Rollout is planned in phases, with eventual support for OpenID login in AOL/AIM products.

So, is 2007 going to be the Year of OpenID?

I can also report that I've tried integrating OpenID support into a Rails applications I've been tinkering with for the XCRI project (more on that later) and that it works remarkably well, remarkably quickly, with no particular specialist knowledge. In fact, it was actually easier than doing a regular sign-up and login form.
