LondonMet have embarked on an ambitious, long-term enterprise
information integration (EII) project, which seeks to model the University's information assets, both structured and unstructured, with a view to applying business-classification metadata to the information
model. As part of this project, a service-oriented architecture (SOA) of
web services is being developed to expose information as it is modelled.
It is intended that this SOA will form the foundation for the development of the next generation of web pplications at the University. The first of these applications, currently under development is a staff-portal based on the uPortal framework using JSR168 portlets.
